Magabala Books invites you to our Intergenerational Storytelling Workshop: 22-23 October 2025
Have you got stories to share? Maybe you have always wanted to record your life story?
Or maybe you are someone who’s interested in knowing how to capture and share the stories of your family or a community member?
We are excited to launch our Intergenerational Storytelling Project, which invites First Nations young people and Elders together to explore storytelling collaboration and knowledge sharing. We’re kicking things off with a free two-day workshop — a relaxed space to learn, explore, and get the support you need to share stories.
There are no age limits — everyone has knowledge to give, and everyone has something to learn. Workshops are led by First Nations people and intentionally informal – you don’t need prior experience or draft material. The sharing of stories will be facilitated safely in a supported environment.
When: 9:00am - 4:00pm Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd October
Where: Liyan-ngan Nyirrwa Centre, Nyamba Buru Yawuru, Rubibi, Broome
Presenters include: Amanda Sibosado, Cindy Solonec, Edie Wright, Melody Dia, Matty J, Elaine Rabbitt and Rachel Bin Salleh.
Please register below, or send an email to projects@magabala.com.au
This project is generously supported by Creative Australia and Water Corporation, with local support from headspace Broome, Goolarri Media and Nyamba Buru Yawuru.
