Magabala Books is thrilled to announce that A Savage Turn and The First Sunrise have been shortlisted for the 2026 Australian Book Industry Awards.

A Savage Turn by Luke Patterson appeared in the Small Publishers' Adult Book of the Year category, while The First Sunrise, written by Vanessa Stevens and illustrated by Paul Seden, was recognised in the Small Publishers' Children's Book of the Year category.
