Mrs Whitlam

Congratulations to Magabala author, Bruce Pascoe, whose children's book, Mrs Whitlam has been shortlisted in the Children's Book Council of Australia's (CBCA) Book of the Year Awards in the Younger Readers category.

A story with immense heart, Mrs Whitlam follows the journey of Marnie Clarke, a young Indigenous girl who is gifted a clydesdale horse called Mrs 'Maggie' Whitlam and must navigate the new world of pony club, friendships, and what it takes to find her inner strength.

The annual CBCA Book of the Year Awards affirm the quality of some of Australia’s most creative people and provides a boost to their capacity to devote time to their craft. For a complete list of all shortlisted books and categories, visit the CBCA website.
