We are thrilled to announce that Open Your Heart to Country by Jasmine Seymour has been shortlisted for the 2023 Karajia Award for Children’s Literature.

The Karajia Award is part of the Environment Awards for Children’s Literature run by the Wilderness Society.

‘It is an honour to be shortlisted for this award,’ says Jasmine. ‘Stories about the language of Country have never been more important. Open Your Heart to Country is a song from my heart to Dharug Country. It is a story that hopes to show people, through the language of place, that there is always a pathway back home.’

The winners of the Karajia and Environment Awards will be announced later this year.
