Kunyi June Anne McInerney

Kunyi June Anne McInerney was born on Todmorden Station near
Oodnadatta in South Australia in 1960. Her family’s language group is
Yankunytjatjara.

Kunyi became a nurse and midwife. She later graduated with a BA in
Aboriginal Studies (University of SA). Kunyi is a self-taught artist whose
work has been exhibited widely. The paintings in Kunyi were part of
the ‘My Paintings Speak for Me’ exhibition at the Migration Museum, a
selection of which toured South Australia. Kunyi has illustrated several
children’s books.
