Luke Pomery is of Adnyamathanha heritage (from the Flinders Ranges area, South Australia). In 2008, when he was just 33, Luke was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which prompted him to look at his life. He has since given up dope, alcohol and smoking – all to which he had an almost life-long addiction.
His first years were spent in the Barrossa Valley and Adelaide in South Australia, with extended stays in Numbulwar, a remote Aboriginal community in East Arnhem Land before moving to Western Australia. Currently he lives in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. His upbringing has made him practical and resourceful – if it’s man-made, he can fix it.
