Maisie Barlow is the author of Jirrbal: Rainforrest Dreamtime Stories. This book is no longer in print.

Maisie is a Jirrbal Elder from Northern Queensland who teaches Jirrbal language and culture to students at the Ravenshoe State School. During her childhood, Maisie was refused entry to primary school because of her Aboriginality. She moved to Wairuna Station where some of her relatives were working and became a carer for the children of the station owner. When the children began learning to read and write, Maisie took the opportunity to learn with them.
