Shane Pickett (deceased) was a Noongar artist who worked in a variety of mediums and forms, including watercolours on paper, gouche on paper, acrylic paint on canvas as well as producing sculptures and making prints. His works are in major public galleries in WA and in private collections around the world and he received numerous awards, grants and commissions, including winning an award at the National Aboriginal Art Prize in 1986. Shane also taught artists' workshops in rural areas, prisons, schools and festivals and worked as a TAFE lecturer. He passed away in 2010.
