Magabala Books thanks our Key Partners
Magabala Books Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit organisation which is supported through government, corporate, philanthropic and private sources.
We receive support from the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body. Support from the State Government is through the Government of Western Australia, the Department of Culture and the Arts and Lotterywest.
Magabala Books is funded on a triennial basis from both the Federal and State Arts funding bodies to support its core operations and publishing program. This core program is also enhanced through funding from Government portfolios such as regional development, education and tourism.
Philanthropic and corporate funds are sought for specific events or projects such as literacy development initiatives, skills development workshops for Indigenous creators and sustainability projects. Our project partners are acknowledged on our Key Projects page. For more information, please visit our Why Support Us page.
The Shire of Broome also offers ongoing support to Magabala Books and is a key stakeholder. We acknowledge the community of Broome, and the local Yawuru people and Nyamba Buru Yawuru Ltd who provide us with a cultural reference and guide our cultural protocols. Our premises are centrally located in Broome on traditional Yawuru country. Magabala Books would like to acknowledge Yawuru and other Kimberley Elders, past and present.
Magabala Books acknowledges and thanks all our supporters.
