Magabala Books is proud to announce that two of our children’s picture books Albert Namatjira by Vincent Namatjira and Kunyi by Kunyi June Anne McInerney were shortlisted in the 2022 Australian Book Industry Awards (ABIA).

Both books were shortlisted for the Small Publisher’s Children’s Book of the Year Award.

Kunyi and Albert Namatjira are unique stories that use paintings by the award-winning artists to tell their stories of truth and resilience.

The winner will be announced at the ABIA Awards ceremony in Sydney on Wednesday 9 June. Another Magabala book Bindi by Kirli Saunders took out the same award in 2021.
