CloseYawuru is the traditional language spoken by the Indigenous people of Broome in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The Yawuru Language Team produced a Yawuru phrasebook. This book is currently out of print. The team consisted of Doris Edgar, Thelma Saddler, Elsie Edgar, Susan Edgar and Dianne Appleby. At the time of writing, the team used letters borrowed from English to document their oral language. They acknowledge that as the study of Yawuru continues, there will be changes to the understanding and possibly spelling of the language, so the orthography used in this phrasebook is not to be considered definitive.
